Many people fantasize about being able to work from home, and what sane person wanting to get away from the daily drive back and forth to work wouldn't. People who work at home don't have to deal with office gossip, and they don't have to worry about taking a break to get some coffee or to stretch, or even have to take lunch at a particular time of the day. There are although interruptions and time wasters that occur when working from home.

Interruptions you might encounter when working at home are the usual interruptions of children, doorbells, telemarketing calls, and well-meaning neighbors that might stop by. Not all of the interruptions and time-wasters are created by other people though. I bet we can all find things that we do that are time-wasters.

When you work from home, you have to stay motivated and organized, unless you’re very good at at staying focused you may find yourself giving in to the temptation to take more breaks to do things other than you work.

One of the biggest advantages of working from home is that you can work when you want to - so if you find that the best time to work is in the afternoon you should make that your work time. If you're working at home around the needs of your family, you may need to consider a different time of day for work. But whatever work schedule you set for yourself, be consistent. Your work will go much easier and more efficiently if you stay on a regular schedule.
