![]() Check out our free work at home and home business articles - Your source for Real Work At Home Jobs and Home Business Opportunities. There Really Is ‘No Place Like Home’ Do you feel frustrated? Do you feel like you will never have time for yourself while you are trying to balance a career from your home and your family? Do you feel that you have taken on more than you can handle? If you are experiencing these emotions, or ones similar, then you are definitely in the majority of women who are working from their homes and going through the same thoughts of monotony and discouragement. Be assured, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We, as women and mothers, have all commented at one time or another “I would love to get out of this house”, “I need a break from this work and the kids”, or “Calgon, take me away!” We are in great demand. Attempting to become successful as a work-at-home professional and still remain the devoted mother and housewife can create the situations mentioned above. It is normal. The ‘good side’ of being/working from your home tends to become forgotten while we are caught up in our everyday chores, errands, and responsibilities. On that note, let’s look at the alternative. Women leave their homes and families to pursue their career and bring in a needed income, whether it is a second income (aside from their spouse) or the primary source of income. You may be thinking that these women, who also deserve applaud and praise for contributing to the work force and maintaining a family, do not share in your frustrations because they get to leave their house and are not faced with the same day-to-day pressures and struggles. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When a woman’s occupation is one that requires on-site attendance, believe it or not, there are many more obstacles on a day-to-day basis than the woman who chooses to make a career at home. Not only do they still have a family to attend to everyday and a home that needs upkeep, they also have to leave time to commute to work, deadlines to meet, problem solving, etc…whatever their job entails. They are actually faced with two sets of responsibilities: ones at home and a separate set at work. There is no way for on-site job commitment and your family at home to blend together. The task of performing adequately for your boss and colleagues is a time consuming task. Meeting the needs of your family, as we all know, also requires devotion and time. I’m sure that you have a friend or friends that leave their home for a career. Just ask them how they feel about their job decisions. I would be willing to bet that their complaints far surpass yours as a work-at-home mom. Their feelings probably include: not enough time at home, guilt for not having enough quality time with their family, and also bigger expenses associated with commuting. Take a ‘Time Out’. Sit back, relax, and analyze your situation. Be open-minded. Remember that you didn’t decide to make a career for yourself at home to create a stressful atmosphere or to become overwhelmed. You, most likely, decided on a career at home to create a balance between family and business and to have a supplemental income. Telecommuting women have a great advantage over the commuting women. Feelings of guilt caused by not being there for your kids or spouse are almost non-existent and your expenses are greatly reduced. Don’t get frustrated and always leave some time that you can call your own. Even if you must get up two hours before everyone else or stay up later at night, this time is yours and you are deserving of it. Just remember, amidst all of your responsibilities, there really is no place like home. For work at home jobs positions click here.
